Carnival of GRADual Progress, Christmas Edition

Styley Geek has done a bang-up job of putting together the fifth Carnival of GRADual Progress over at Fumbling Towards Geekdom. It's full of things that make me just pleased to be a graduate student. Being able to count yourself a member of such a smart, funny group of people is one of the best things about grad school, I think.

But I used a fake ID to get this! I was in this shady bar, see, and after several too many pomegranate martinis, some guy told me about this guy who could do, you know, identities for people. For a price, you understand. Like passports that the feds would never know from the real thing.

Next day I woke up in grad school, with my wallet missing.

I'd tell someone, but no-one would believe me. But I know the truth ... I'm here under false pretenses.

Wait, you know that's how the rest of us got here, too, right? Because if they didn't tell you that at the bar, you paid too much.
